Odds and Ends

It’s hard to believe, but it’s been almost eight months since our wedding! Time has flown by as we continue to experience new joys and changes in our lives. We’re bad at remembering to update our blog, but here’s a quick glance into the recent happenings of our lives:

Medical School

Olivia is finally done with second year classes! She is now a full time studier and is entering the less fun part of medical school with many exams. From now until May 4th, she will be hiding in our guestroom/study cave as she prepares for three national exams and her first boards exam. She will start clinical rotations in the beginning of June.

Missional Community

We’ve transitioned to our third missional community (community group) in the past six months, although this time we’re hosting! We were presented with the opportunity to join the Young Professionals Missional Community at our church, and Kyle was asked to help with the leading and the facilitation of the group. We are happy to provide a home that is closer to where many of the members live and work compared to where the group was meeting before. It has been exciting to make new friends and to fellowship together, even though our modest living room can barely hold the 12-18 people we’ve had attending!

Health Things

As some of you may know, Kyle has been struggling with various types of abdominal pain for a good chunk of his life. Last year brought many tests to help diagnose the issues, but unfortunately (and also fortunately) nothing definitive was discovered. The beginning of this year brought some waves of pain, but thankfully he is feeling better now. We’ve attempted a gluten-free, lactose-free, low starch diet, which is a pain to follow, but better a pain in the kitchen than a pain in the stomach…(Kyle is really proud of himself for coming up with this line)

Again, as some of you may know, Olivia was diagnosed with Lupus in high school. Thankfully, it has been in remission for the past eight years, but it is scary to realize that it could potentially flare up again sometime in the future. Later this month, we will be walking for the Lupus Alliance of Upstate New York, an organization that raises funds, both for research and for the support of current patients. If you would like to donate, please visit Olivia’s page here!

Blog Update

Finally, we hope you’ve noticed some of the changes we’ve made to the site! We’ve transitioned out some of our wedding pages, and replaced them with other goodies. We encourage you to check out some of the links in the top banner or to take a look at some of our past posts!

Please let us know how you are doing – we’d love to hear from you!
